Agateware

Ah lockdown, level 4, here you are again.

We have been rather busy actually with the ‘day job’. A surge in the building industry recently has meant lockdown is ‘catch up’ time, rather than ‘play’ time or ‘down’ time (although to be fair no ‘play/down time’ is ever that enjoyable if you are trying to work out how to sustain your families income and survive a global pandemic….).

However, while we have been working, the kiln has still been going through the $$$ and firing the work that we have already thrown, trimmed and dried. So this latest kiln opening revealed several pieces of Agateware that Lisa learnt through a course at the Clay Centre with John Dawson pre Delta breakthrough.

They certainly brighten up a dreary lockdown winter day, and we are looking forward to trying out some more experiments in this technique.
